CRUCIS DESIGNS have recently complete a structural assessment of a replica Iron Age roundhouse. The building is a thatched roundhouse fashioned out of large diameter round pole timber, built with the construction techniques likely to have been adopted by our forbearers. CRUCIS DESIGNS carried out a qualitative assessment of the structure using more modern methods of analysis in order to assess the structures long term viability.

​CRUCIS DESIGNS have been appointed to carry out a structural assessment of a manor hall dating from the 1400s, once gifted to Anne Boleyn by Henry VIII. The works involve assessment of the original oak farmed structure and design of remedial support details, to secure the longevity of the building for generations.

CRUCIS DESIGNS have just completed the structural design for a new 17000ft² mezzanine as part of a new Esports Gaming Arena. The project involved design of a new steel framed mezzanine within an existing commercial development with CRUCIS DESIGNS proposing the use of a double transfer structure allowing larger spans than originally thought achievable within the constraints of the brief.

 In regards to the latest developments with Covid 19, we have summarised the measures CRUCIS DESIGNS are taking to ensure client and staff safety below.

Currently CRUCIS DESIGNS are running a skeleton staff in our offices with the rest of our staff working from home. This means any engineer from CRUCIS DESIGNS you meet will have limited their contact with other members of the public as far as is practicable.

CRUCIS DESIGNS will also be contacting you shortly before any of our staff come out to visit, to check if you or any member of your household has shown symptoms of the Corona Virus; if you have then we will be unable to attend site and will need to postpone our visit. This will help us to protect our staff and reduce the risk of our engineers passing on anything to other clients.

Currently CRUCIS DESIGNS are advising our staff wear gloves and face masks when they visit clients to reduce the possibility of transmission. This measure may be unnecessary, but we are taking a precautionary approach.

At some point in the future we anticipate that there may be a need to stop our engineers visiting clients altogether. If this occurs we will be putting a together guide to allow us to carry out an initial assessment of your building remotely, and then follow up with a full survey by one of our engineers at a later date.
