Founded in 2010, CRUCIS DESIGNS provides high quality engineering design services to both the commercial construction industry and domestic residential clients.
We work with commercial and domestic clients on projects ranging in size from individual beams, to residential extensions and multi-million pound mixed use developments.

Alice Ward MEng (Hons) CEng MICE
Founder and director Alice is a chartered civil engineer with a broad range of construction industry experience; including structural design for the commercial, retail and residential sectors. Alice has worked on major infrastructure projects including highways design, drainage, marine structures and rail terminals.
Alice has particular expertise in timber frame structures and off-site construction. As well as designing many innovative timber structures Alice has been involved in drafting guidance on the design of timber framed structures for the UK construction industry.

Chris Ward BEng (Hons) CEng MIstructE
Technical director Chris Ward is a chartered structural engineer with over a decades experience in structural design. He has worked as the principle engineer on projects up to £150M in value.
As well as a wealth of experience in new build projects Chris has worked on the conservation of some of the UKs most prestigious historic buildings, having worked to help save structures dating from the early 15th to the late 20th Century.
Chris is passionate about construction and believes that understanding best practice in the build process yields better designs and better buildings. Chris is often involved in the production of construction sequence method statements and specification of temporary works, assisting contractors in achieving a smooth and trouble free build.
