What Else Might I Need

CRUCIS DESIGNS have based our automatic online quotes on the form of construction we find most common for domestic / residential properties, but as each design is bespoke there may be site specific additional requirements. Our engineers will be able to advise once they have been to site / discussed the project with you.

The most common additional requirements are:

  • Piled Foundations: The requirement for this type of foundation is largely driven by the proximity of trees close to the property, the nature of the soils below the property and the form of the existing foundations.
  • Portal Frames: If a very large proportion of the existing rear wall of a property is removed, this can affect the stability of the building and a steel goal post frame will be required to maintain overall stability; a similar frame can also be required for some extensions where only a very small amount of masonry is to be provided on the new rear elevation.
